India Vision 2020 was initially a document prepared by the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of India's Department of Science and Technology under the chairmanship of Dr. A P J Kalam and a team of 500 experts.
Kalam described the plan as follows "Transforming the nation into a developed country, five areas in combination have been identified based on India's core competence, natural resources and talented manpower for integrated action to double the growth rate of GDP and realize the Vision of Developed India."
The five Target areas are
- Agriculture and food processing
- Infrastructure with reliable electric power
- Education and Healthcare
- Information and Communication Technology
- Critical technologies and strategic industries
Sixth and important area we need concentrate is the Human resource to achieve these five important targets. The current young generation need to be motivated to grow mentally, physically strong and with value education to be the resources to achieve and maintain India as Super power. For them to become fit to lead India in 2020, we the current generation need to be fit enough to guide them, Hence the time is to keep the Students & Teachers, Kids & Parents, Leaders & Followers in short our Country & its Citizens Strong and fit and hence the "FIT INDIA MOVEMENT YES-4-2020" .
For example, To be fit and healthy you need to be physically active. Regular physical activity can help protect you from serious diseases such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, diabetes and arthritis. Riding your bicycle regularly is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle. There are many such areas we need to elaborate, educate and make the younger generation follow to make India stronger and healthier.
